Our Year 5 and 6 children have visited the Clitheroe cements work to look at land use in the local area. The children asked lots of very interesting and thoughtful questions and we were all surprised at how there was a focus at the works on sustainable energy.
The children in RZ and 1RL enjoyed dressing up as modern day superheroes . Thanks to parents for your support - we had some fantastic outfits including doctors, midwives, firefighters, army, policemen and women and many more.
Our KS1 children dressed up as firefighters, bakers or characters from the Great Fire of London story. They enjoyed a day of exciting , creative activities all based around their History topic and particularly enjoyed baking and tasting bread !
Our Year 6 school councillors attended the service to welcome Rev Judith Clark to St Mary Magdelena's Church . We all look forward to meeting her at our KS2 Carol Service in December and hope she will come into some of our assemblies once she has settled into her new role.
It has been Inter Faith Week this week. Each day a different faith visitor has delivered an assembly to our KS1 and KS2 children .We have found that many of our school values and equality work linked to the values that are important to their faith. Thankyou to Mrs Kennerley for organising.
What a spotacular day we had raising money for Children in Need ! Thankyou to everyone for joining in the fun and donating generously to such a good cause.
We had two netball teams representing Pendle in the Stonyhurst Netball Festival. It was a great opportunity, early in the season, for our girls and boys to practise their skills in a match situation. They all played brilliantly - although getting incredibly wet ! Well donePendle !
We all wore odd socks to school today to celebrate our differences and how unique each and every one of us is !
Members of our school council attended the Remembrance service at St Mary's Church and joined the procession to the memorial at Clitheroe Castle , where our Year 6 councillors placed a poppy wreath made by members of our school.
