The aim of this weeks work is to write a non-fiction ( information ) fact sheet about a mouse.

In preparation for this on Monday we will be looking at a number of non fiction fact sheets and simple books about other animals e.g. Foxes or hedgehogs. We will discuss headings how the information is set out on non fiction pages -  subheadings, labelled drawings, captions and questions and fun facts.

On Tuesday we will start preparing our fact sheets by looking at the layout of the page and deciding what we will be writing about in each section e.g where will we put the labelled drawing . What will the subheadings be e.g Opening statement, Where mice live, What they eat , Fun Fact, Did you know?

On Wednesday and Thursday we will complete the fact sheet taking care to discuss the sentences to be included in each fact box. Remember, think the sentence, rehearse the sentence (say it) several times, then write the sentence, sound talking each word for spelling.
