Autumn 2

Measures

We used  strips of shiny green paper 1 meter long to make the meter trees.

Statistics

We wanted to find out which was the most popular colour smartie in a small tube. The children worked in pairs and were given a tube to tip onto the table. They were then asked to complete a tally chart. They used the tally to construct a physical block graph so they could instantly see the colour smartie there was most of in their packet, the colour there was fewest of and compare colours by counting the difference between the coloured towers.

Multiplication

Making arrays using natural materials

Addition and subtraction

Adder 10 - to add or subtract 10 from a 2 digit number.

Measures

We made 1 metre long paper chains with repeating patterns of colour to hang in the corridoor as Christmas decorations.
