Science

This week we are having a break from our plant investigations to join the Burnley College Science Festival. This should bring a little fun to households across the region as there are 50 interactive activities suitable for children from Rec to Year 6.

Geography

A local study

Use the attached digimaps map as a guide. Can you follow the route from Clitheroe Library to travel to the following places:

  • Roefield
  • Clitheroe Castle
  • The Everyman

Then, try to create your own map showing the route taken to reach one of the above. Think what symbols you will choose to use. Consider a plan view and don’t forget to label your map clearly.

If the weather is fine, test your map with an adult. Remember to social distance. If possible, measure the distance travelled through a tracking app or steps taken to reach the destination.

DT

Shelters

Investigate the ways structures can be strengthened. Watch the attached videos for ideas relating to folding and shaping, corrugating, ribbing and laminating. Then, test them out. Can you spot the difference between card or paper that has been strengthened and those that haven’t? This investigation will help you to think about your design idea next week.

Music

Use your knowledge from last week’s notes song to test your listening skills with the Holy Mole game https://www.musicteachers.co.uk/games/holy-mole/index.html

Or as it is World Wellbeing Week, consider the following lesson. Think about how your favourite songs make you feel and join the lesson below.
