Tog Up Thursday

Remember, Remember the 5th of November.

We have been enjoying a variety of bonfire activities. We have been innovating poems, singing songs, making edible sparklers and our own rocket fireworks. We enjoyed our sparklers in the wildlife garden around the bonfire we made together. We even put Guy Faukes on top!

We started our Tog Up Thursday by looking at the different trees and leaves we have on our school grounds. We found holly, sycamore, oak, laurel and willow. The children were fantastic at telling me whether they are evergreen or deciduous and brilliant at describing them too!

We then collected lots of the fallen leaves alongside lots of natural materials to make our own Rangoli patterns as we have been learning about Diwali. Some fantastic teamwork and the end results were beautiful!

The children enjoyed the story of the Leaf Man this afternoon. We discussed signs of autumn and collected natural objects to make our own pictures.
