Summer 2 - Structures
Week 1
We looked at a wide range of images that showed a structure. We discussed their shape, the materials or the tools that had been used and how they might have been made.
Week 2
This week we investigated a range of boxes. We looked at the shape, material and the way they were constructed. We discussed their purpose and how some shapes are needed, such as a Toblerone box for the chocolate within. Then we tried to make a simple box from a shape 'net'. Mrs Schofield didin't help us as she wanted to see if we could work out how the pieces went together.
Week 3
This week we have been finding ways to strengthen card.
Week 4
We planned our designs and we made our logos on the iPads.
Week 5 and 6
We made our boxes. We tried to score our fold lines using a biro.
