Summer 2

Week 3

This week we are revisiting fractions. On Monday we explored placing fractions on a number line. We then went outside to take part in an outdoor learning activity. There were 32 stations positioned around the football cages. Our task in pairs was to determine what fraction the X on the number line represented. We worked really hard and enjoyed running between stations!

Week 2

We started the week by going outside to skip counting in multiples of 4, 8, 50 and 100! We worked individually and in groups of 3.

We then looked at a range of subtraction calculations and decided on the best method to find the answers. For example 42 - 25 = ? We discussed ways of calculating the answer mentally and then written methods we could use such as using a number line.

Week 1

This week we have been looking at Place Value. We have been counting from 0 in multiples of 4, 8, 50 and 100 and have been finding 1, 10 or 100 more or less than a given number.
We are doing so well recognising the place value of each digit in a three-digit numbers and comparing and ordering numbers up to 1000. This week we have also been identifying, representing and estimating numbers on a number line and counting stick.
