The Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings. Our new topic began with the children investigating possible reasons why the Anglo-Saxons came to Britain. They looked at picture clues and derived a list of reasons.
We then looked at a list of reasons and sorted them. This helped us decide which were most likely.
We learned about push and pull factors. The children were really engaged and understand that war from their neighbouring countries would be a push factor and the climate and fertile land would be pull.
