Information leaflet on rivers  

In 3/4T we have been using artwork to help us generate ideas and inspire our writing to help us create our own storm animal. 
 

The children have used the artwork to create their own descriptions using adjectives and adverbs, with some children taking on the challenge of creating similes and metaphors in their descriptions.

This half term the pupils have been studying the story of ‘The Mousehole Cat’. We have been using the story to create our own descriptions of the characters and creating different storm animals which we are going to later use for our own stories. The children have picked out interesting words and phrases from the text and used dictionaries to help find the meanings of new words as well as beginning to use them in their own writing .
