Fruit and Vegetables.

We will be sampling a range of fruits and vegetables and then creating our own salad.

The children practiced the skills of juicing, cutting with scissors, peeling with peelers, slicing and chopping with knives and grating with a grater. Mrs Worsley was impressed with how safely and carefully we used the equipment.

Mrs Worsley fetched a sample of salads for use to evaluate. We considered the variety of ingredients, the appearance (if it looked appetising) and what skills had been used to create the salad. We identified the skills of cutting, grating and slicing.

We sampled a range of fruits and vegetables, we considered the appearance, the texture and the taste of each one. We created a word bank to describe them fruits and vegetables.
