Spring 1

We looked at sculptures and how they can be viewed from every angle then looked at pictures of pigs and penguins from different angles.

The children manipulated the plasticine by rolling, squashing and pulling it to make their sculpture.

We looked at photographs and and artwork of penguins in a cold landscape then used watercolours to create our own paintings depicting movement e.g. sliding, swimming, waddling etc. and atmosphere.

We pulled wings, a head, a tail and a beak out of clay to make a sculpture of a penguin then used tools to make eyes and other details on the sculpture

We carefully painted the dried clay penguin sculptures
