Multiplication and Division

The children have started this half term by using bead strings to support their initial understanding of multiplication and division to support with more challenging and complex problems. 

Shape

Now in mathematics, we have been looking at 3D shapes by being able to describe what edges, vertices and faces are and identifying specific 3D shapes. Year 4 have begun to take this knowledge further by looking at what makes a prism or a pyramid and being able to sort 3D shapes with given properties or by sorting them into their own categories, using both Venn and Carroll diagrams to help them.
