1D have continued enjoying listening to rock bands, finding the pulse and practising our song for this term - I Wanna Play in a Band. We started listening to Deep Purple - Smoke on the Water. The children are really good at finding the beat and pretending they are playing in a rock band!
We used the claves to find the pulse and play back rhythms.
Fantastic music work 1D.
This week 1D started singing our song and learning words and actions to all the verses.
We warmed up first doing exercises to find the pulse.
Next it was time to play note D in time with the pulse.
This term our song we are focussing on is `I Wanna Play in a Band` by Joanna Mangona. It is a rock song written for children.
It will be an exciting term as we listen and appraise rock music eg. We Will Rock You by Queen.
1D will also begin to learn how to accompany the song by playing the Glockenspiels.
