This week has been STEM week in school. Year 3 went for a sound walk around the school grounds. We used a data logger to record the decibels of each sound that we heard. Year 4 made sounds in the outdoor environment and thought scientifically to decide why some materials created louder sounds than others when tapped or banged.
This term we are looking at how sounds can be heard and made. We started by thinking what we already know. Then, we found out about the vibrations made when we pluck a string or tap a drum.
