School Trip to Outdoor Elements

Thank you to all of our volunteer helpers, and offers of help for our school trip. We had a fantastic time at Outdoor Elements! It was a great chance for the children to explore and have an adventure, demonstrate their team working skills and understanding of the world and most importantly… have LOTS of fun making special memories! Thank you to parents for subsiding your child’s visit. Information about Outdoor Elements is attached below. 😄🪱☘️

A super day!

Bus Trip and Lunches! Both always exciting parts of a school trip! Thank you to the kitchen staff for our yummy lunches.

Bread Making! We rolled our dough, looped it around our stick and then cooked it on the fire! We were super at taking turns and demonstrating our understanding of staying safe around the fire.

Welly Walk! We followed our guide up the stream, having to climb over and under different logs and obstacles! Climbing over and under obstacles was very exciting and challenging, especially for the adults! We carefully walked across wobbly bridges, and made rock towers too! We even visited the Gruffalo’s house, but he must have been busy!

Den Building! We worked together to make dens for us, and for hedgehogs! We poured water over it as we sat inside to see if it would be strong enough in a storm!

But Hunt! Not only did we search for bugs in the stream, but on land too. We worked hard to turn logs and use our magnifying glasses to look closely and find bugs. We had an identification chart again to help us talk about the bugs we had found. We were very careful at returning the bugs to their habitats after looking at them.

Stream Dip! We searched for bugs in the stream using a net. We put the bugs in a small dish and used an identification chart to decide which bug it was!
