CBeebies | Poppies animation

This is the video we use to teach children about Poppy Day. They wanted to watch the video again and again (and again and again!!!!) and all cheered when the sun came back out again in the video to mark the end of the fighting, and said things like, "The rabbit is hiding under the helmet because it's frightened."

The children discovered how to use the replay button on YouTube so set up their own mini cinema to watch the animation.

We made our own poppies! The children were so focussed to cut each part out and stick together to make the whole. All of the children were able to Mrs Davy and I why we wear poppies.

Lots of independent opportunities in provision for children to create their own poppies.
