Our visit to St. Mary’s Church.
We have been thinking about the different commitments we have in our lives.
We have been learning about Eid. We have created some amazing mosques.
We have been finding out about Holi, the Hindu festival of colour.
We have been learning about how and why people celebrate Diwali. We made Rangoli patterns, clay diva lamps, mehndi hand designs and stick puppets of the characters from the story of Rama and Sita.
We explored the idea of giving gifts. We talked about when and why we give other people gifts. We discussed how we feel when we give and receive a gift. We also discussed different types of gifts and how you can show someone you care for them, including ‘invisible’ gifts such as the gift of love, the gift of time etc. We enjoyed creating thank you cards, ‘paper’ hugs and wrapping presents.
