Autumn 2

Today we have listened to and discussed the music of Queen. In class we moved and clapped to the famous song We Will Rock You. Then children then made a poster.

Autumn 1

Today we continued looking at the work of Composer Camille Saint Saens. Another piece of music written by Saint Saens is called Danse Macabre. The children listened carefully and described the midnight chime of the clock, dancing skeletons, howling wind and daybreak. During the lesson the music we thought about Halloween and drew pictures to represent the piece of music.

Although we can`t sing inside as a whole class there have been other ways to enjoy our music lessons.

We have been learning the rap `HEY YOU!` It`s been great to feel the pulse, do the actions and learn the words so we can rap outside.

We have also been listening and responding to the piece of music `Carnival of the Animals` (Camille Saint Saens) and learning what a composer is.

The children has brilliant responses about which animals were represented, the instruments used to make the sounds and the movements that the animals were making and why.

We concentrated on the section relating to elephants and practised our drawing skills to create them.
