Mayor Visit

The Mayor of Clitheroe came into school. She told us that Clitheroe means ‘rocky hill’. She showed us her chain and two children were chosen to wear the different chains. She explained that she has special robes to wear, the red represents the king, the black represents the law and the fur represents the people. Lady mayors wear hats that have three corners and gentlemen wear hats with two corners.
