Keeping Myself Safe

We played a game called ‘Roll a story’. We needed to roll a dice to determine the scenario. We discussed how to recognise when someone is upset, hurt or angry online and what to do if ever we feel uncomfortable.

We explored some types of social media and estimated the age to use. We then found out the actual age needed to use.

We know the internet offers wonderful opportunities to connect with others, learn new things, have fun and much more. However we found out that not all young people’s experiences are positive or fun. We wrote our ideas on post it notes to respond to the statement ‘Being online is all fun and games’

We thought about appropriate ways to behave towards other people online. We were given a range of scenarios and we had to decide in pairs on the best possible reaction to improve the situation.

When we found out we were being visited by Daisy First Aid a couple of 3K girls brought in their Brownie First Aid badges to show the class.

We really enjoyed a visit from Daisy First Aid. We found out about basic techniques for dealing with common injuries.

We enjoyed completing an Internet Safety word search for our start of the day activity.
