Autumn 2 Valuing Differences

We thought about how we are similar and different. We played the I like ... game. If we liked the same fruit we would repeat the phrase I like apples, if we did not like the fruit we would say I don’t like apples, I like and choose a different fruit.

We then played the game the sun shines on people with .... We stood up and swapped places with someone who also had the statement in common with us, I.e. the sun shines on people who like the colour green.

We thought of kind words and created a chain of kindness.

We created a unique sock puppet and shared nice words with each other.

We watched ‘For the Birds’ and discussed how the small beards were unkind to the big bird. We thought about what the small birds might have been saying.

How did the big bird feel?

We made small bird a wrote a positive comment to the big bird.
