Autumn 2

Week 4

This week we are learning about time. We will be recording and comparing time in terms of seconds and minutes, using vocabulary such as o’clock, a.m./p.m., morning, afternoon, noon and midnight. We will be learning the number of seconds in a minute and the number of days in each
month.

Some useful websites to help tell the time are:

Week 3

Mrs Kennerley is so proud of our achievements on Times Table Rockstars. Every child completed the set sessions last week. Our accuracy and speed is improving too :) Keep it up!

We really enjoyed taking our learning outside to start the week off. We visited 17 'Array stations' in pairs. We made arrays using pebbles and derived and recorded the division facts related to the multiplication facts.

Week 2

This week we looked at the grid method for multiplication. We also recalled and used multiplication and division facts for the 3 and 4 multiplication tables.

We also thought about equal groups when thinking about multiples of a particular number, for example, there are 7 equal groups of 4, there are 28 altogether.

Week 1

This week we focused on the 3 and 4 times tables. We recalled and used multiplication and division facts for the 3 and 4 times tables. We looked at arrays. An array is a pictorial representation to help with multiplication and division facts.

3 x 5 = 15

5 x 3 = 15

15 ÷ 3 = 5

15 ÷ 5 = 3

We also looked at number sequences we described and extended them, counting on or back in different steps. We have also looked at sorting diagrams. We have sorted numbers using Venn and Carroll diagrams.
