Autumn 2

This half term the children will be exploring freestanding structures.
They will become structural engineers, designing a bridge, then building their bridge and evaluating it.

Our final products. The children evaluated their products and considered any alterations they may need to make.

The making phase. The children had to collect their equipment and consider how they were going to begin their construction.

The designing process. The children used their practice joins to decide which method they would use to make their free standing bridge. The drew and lab led their design.

The children practiced a range of joining techniques. They evaluated the different methods to investigate which would be the best technique to use to build their bridge.

The children used a range of construction materials to build and evaluate a bridge. They considered how the could make the bridge stand up unaided and what they needed to improve to make it stable.
