Autumn 2

Fractions - Equal? Unequal? We explored fractions and how many equal parts by sharing out chocolate. We identified the denominators and sorted them to a given criteria. We used lots of mathematical vocabulary and found out which chocolate bars were easier to share!

We then moved onto sorting shapes...

We began our learning within 'Sequencing and Sorting' by exploring repeating patterns, we then thought about what objects have in common. We thought about what was the same and different about them and gave reasons for our answers.

We have enjoyed recapping our learning within one of our maths starters this week. Miss DeRosa called out a number and we had to make it as quickly as we could using bundles of straws or dienes.

We have been getting active whilst reciting our two times tables. We used socks to help us group within our learning, counting them in groups before moving onto our independent learning.

Firework Subtraction! We used part whole models and tens frames to help us work out the subtractions.
