Autumn 1

As part of our maths work on measure, we went outside to find sticks that were shorter and longer than a strip of coloured paper.

The children have been using a 10s frame to find all the number bonds to 10.

The children have been using number lines to add to numbers together - starting at the biggest number and 'jumping on,' to find the total.

As part of our maths lesson the children have been using 10's frames and the part-part whole model to add two numbers together.

The children selected two items to find out which was the heaviest and which item was the lightest. Did the scales balance with any of the items?

The children have been using cubes and paper clips to measure the lenght of the monser's line.

The children have been measuring using non-standard measure; cones, lollypop sticks and beanbags. They had to measure the length of their partner.

The children have been using sticks to find one more and one less than a chosen number.

The children have been finding one more, they built a tower of cubes then built another tower with one one cube.

The children have been finding the number which has the greatest value. They chose two numbers and circled the number with the greatest value.

The children have been using counters to show different numbers on a 10's frame.
