Identifying the heading, subheadings and pictures on non-chronological reports.
The Jolly Postman had a letter for ‘Grandma’ but it was a wolf in grandma’s clothes. The post man was nervous. We discussed why the postman was scared and talked about the characteristics of the wolf from Little Red Riding Hood.
We posed questions to ask the Jolly Postman and recorded them on the iPad.
Our book is called ‘The Jolly Postman’. We thought about what the word jolly means, then the children drew a picture of themselves when we felt jolly and what made them feel jolly.
The children made predictions about the characters in our story and what might happen.
When we arrived in class there was a postbox and parcel. What could be inside?
