Autumn 1

Innovated stories based on

‘The Way Home for Wolf’ and the children’s research about a cheetah or lion:

We learnt about the African savanna and linked it to the opening of The Lion King which is set on the same savanna.  We read and sorted statements into those which were true or false.  Then we made masks and Miss Markham asked us questions as we were the animal experts!  She even played The Chase music to make it like a real quiz!

Here are our contestants on The Chase:

Dioramas about our chosen animal from the savanna.

Facts about the grey Wolf:

Reading Grey Wolf facts which were around the room and making notes to help us with our non-fiction Grey Wolf written work:

Wilf the wolf had a diary extract of his adventures in his paws!

Writing our diary extracts with a success criteria:

Wearing blue for Hollie and reading outdoors at playtime!

Reading the beginning part of the story and adding actions to help us to remember it.

Acting out like Wilf the wolf - here is Wilf feeling exhausted and breathless:
