We read the story of the "Enormous Turnip." We decided to plant turnip seeds and observe them as they grow. We have created plant diaries. We discussed what a plant needs to help it grow.
What is in your plant medicine?
We thought about the parts of a plant. We followed a recipe to make our own plant medicine. We talked about what we could see and used our senses to describe the plants.
We have been looking closely at different fruits. We looked inside the fruits to see if they were the same colour on the inside as the outside. We compared the seeds. Some fruits had lots of little seeds other fruits had one big seed
We observed our plants growing in different conditions. We made a predication about how it might be growing before identifying what we could see and why.
What do seeds need to grow? We set up an investigation to find out whether seeds can grow in a cupboard (with no light) one in the fridge (no warmth) and one in the classroom which won’t be watered. We will be observing the changes time.
We went on a plant walk.
