We innovated the story of “Whatever Next!”
A spaceship crashed into our classroom! Fortunately, it landed in the book "There's an Alien in Your Book." After creating some amazing alien friends for the alien in the book, we came up with some amazing descriptions!

We explored non-fiction books about owls. We wrote down some interesting facts!
We had a special visit from SMJ Falconry! 🦉
We are so proud of the children working independently whilst on learning choice!
We thought about what we would like to find out about owls and wrote questions. We are looking forward to a visit from SMJ Falconry later in the week!

We enjoyed listening to the story "Owl Babies". We thought about what might happen next. We made stick puppets and owl masks. We also enjoyed retelling the story. "I want my Mummy!"

We listened to a poem called "Cold" by Shirley Hughes. After that, we went on a winter walk and took some pictures using the iPads. We also made some wonderful collages of the season. We were then inspired to create our own poetry as a result. We hope you enjoy listening to some of them!
The Year 1 children performed their poem to the Apple class!
