We looked at a range of toy poems. We thought about a favourite toy. We listed adjectives and wrote a poem.

Summer 1 - The Lion King

Persuasive writing based on The Lion King. We tried to persuade others that Simba would be the best choice for king.

We have made toast and thought about the instructions we needed to follow. Now we are ready to write our own set of instructions.

Outdoor learning - Commas in a list

Exploring the suffix -ing. We created firework pictures using chalk and added vocabulary such as fizzing, swirling, zooming and sparkling.

Autumn 1

Outdoor learning - including verbs in sentences.

This year the theme for National Poetry Day is counting. We looked the poem 'The Terrible Ten' by poet James Carter. We each decorated a mask representing one of the ten creatures. We practised the lines and performed the poem as a class. We wrote our own version of the poem too.
