Dear King Charles, here is what I know about the history of Clitheroe
Our visit to the library! Chris told us lots of interesting things about the library and how it has changed. We got to see parts of the library that we haven't seen before, including the cells! What can the children remember about the library and how it has changed?
How was the library different in the past?
The Year 1 children enjoyed a treasure trail around Clitheroe. We identified each object and discussed what it was used for in the past.
We used language linked to the past and present to sort images of Clitheroe.
We have been busy learning all about why we wear Poppies at this time of year. Before discussing the meaning of Remembrance Day, we watched the beautiful CBeebies Poppies Animation. Using different art materials, children made their own Poppies.
A beautiful poppy made at home!
A purple poppy to remember the animals that lost their lives at war!
CBeebies Poppies animation!
We have been exploring Black History Month. The children have been learning about Rosa Parks. We began by discussing what is fair and what is unfair. We gave the children different scenarios to think about. We then read the book about Rosa Parks. Straight away, the children knew it was unfair what happened to Rosa. We created our own buses with a range a diverse people on them. We also acted out the scene where Rosa refused to give up her seat.
