Autumn 1
Simple Circuits and Switches
This term we will be investigating simple circuits and switches. We will be making torches or light boxes as our end of unit project. Keep looking in to see how we are progressing.
Week 1
This week we researched the life of Michael Faraday. We found out about his inventions and the way he created an electronic motor using coiled wire and magnets. His inventions can still be found in modern day equipment, such as a fridge.
Week 2
This week we have been investigating torches. We looked at the components and discussed the role of the switch.
Week 3
Switches
Week 4
We have started to design our bedroom lights. They must include the following:
- a simple circuit with 1 bulb
- a switch
- be made around a box frame
Week 5/6
Our finished designs included a switch.
