Autumn 1

The children have been designing the front cover of their story. They included a title an illustration and most importantly the author... themselves. We are looking forward to sharing our stories.

The children have been using all the facts they have collected about their chosen animal, a lion or a cheetah, to plan their story.

The lion and cheetah Cubs were in the hot seat answering questions all about their pack, habitat and what they enjoy doing. Did you know a pack of cheetahs is a coalition? Did you know that cheetahs don’t roar, they purr?

The children have been learning about the savanna. They had a selection of facts about the savanna which they had to decide if they were true or false.

The children have been learning all about their chosen animal, a lion or cheetah, to innovate the story of ‘The Way Home for Wolf’. They have learnt where they live, what they eat and the name of their group.

We have been finding out facts about grey wolves.

Wilf shared a diary extract with us that he had written about his journey.

We have been creating sentence maps to retell the story - Way Home for Wolf.

The children made their own Wilf mask and then they acted out sections of the story.

Wilf left a message for us. He needs are help. The children asked questions to Wilf to find out more about him and why he needed our help to find his way home.

The children heard a strange howling noise and we discovered a wolf in our classroom. We have been predicting what might happen in our story.

The children have been exploring interesting words to describe the wolf from The Three Little Pigs.
