  • Socio economic badge

We are thrilled to have achieved our  Socio - economic badge. We have worked hard this year and have focused on the following :

    • Ensure that people of all socioeconomic backgrounds are represented in a positive and constructive way in all curriculum subjects and in school displays, library books and other resources.
    • Use pupil premium to support children's learning and development in imaginative ways, tailored to each pupil's circumstances.

    • Understand family circumstances and review school processes to ensure there are no institutional barriers to participation.

    • Support pupils who have recently arrived in the UK who may be homesick or traumatised.

    • Encourage pupils and staff to voice their opinions respectfully to work together

    • Review school policies and practice which can have an adverse impact on children living in poverty, for example cost of uniform or school trips.

    • Maintain high expectations of all pupils.

    • Consider school uniform so it is not expensive and impacts less on families with lower income.

    • Ensure systems and procedures for free school meals do not stigmatise children and young people.
