Sexual orientation badge
We are thrilled to have achieved our Sexual orientation badge. We have worked hard this year and have focused on the following :
- Continuing to develop a culture that celebrates similarity, difference and diversity and one in which all children and young people can see themselves and their families represented and valued.
- Further developing a curriculum that provides opportunities to explore, understand and prevent stereotypes and all forms of prejudice
- To invest in resources used to ensure lessons reflect a diverse range of families and relationships.
- To develop use of non-stereotypical language within school , avoiding assumptions that everyone is heterosexual
- To provide CPD on sexual orientation equality.
- To ensure teachers and support staff are knowledgeable and confident to engage in open conversations and know how to offer support to children and families.
