Sexual orientation badge

We are thrilled to have achieved our  Sexual orientation badge. We have worked hard this year and have focused on the following :

  • Continuing to develop a culture that celebrates similarity, difference and diversity and one in which all children and young people can see themselves and their families represented and valued.
  • Further developing a  curriculum that provides opportunities to explore, understand and prevent stereotypes and all forms of prejudice
  • To invest in resources used to ensure lessons reflect a diverse range of families and relationships.

  • To develop use of non-stereotypical language within school , avoiding assumptions that everyone is heterosexual
  • To provide CPD on sexual orientation equality.
  • To ensure teachers and support staff are knowledgeable and  confident to engage in open conversations and know how to offer support to children and families.
