We had great fun completing our sponsored Bunny Run with Holly Class and Pine Class.

In PRSHE, we have been thinking about how we keep healthy. Working in pairs we thought about what we put into our bodies, people who help us keep healthy and what we can do to live healthy lives.

In Art, we have been working on a special art project for an exhibition in June.

    Week 2 wb 20.4.2026

In Maths, the Year 1 children have been learning to tell the time for o’clock and half past. Here are some examples of their work on o’clock times:

In RE, we explored the main features of a Christian church and described their uses.

We are continuing to learn about microhabitats in Science and this week we posed questions about worms. We acted like scientists by carrying out research before collecting two worms and making a wormery.

In PE, Farouk the cricket coach taught us batting and ball skills.

In English, we reflected on the character of Mr McGregor in order to write sentences about him.

A little treat baked by our star bakers!

    Week 1 wb 13.4.2026

    Owl Board

The theme for our Music lessons this half term is Space. We began by lying down, closing our eyes and imagining that we were on a journey into space to discover a new planet. We listened to a piece of music and discussed what the planet might look like, what we might find there, and what the surface might be like.

We began our Science topic 'Microhabitats' by looking at leaf litter.  We use the scientific skill of grouping in order to group minibeasts.

Year 1 children have been learning about position and direction in Maths.  We used forwards, backwards, left and right to follow and write instructions.

In English, we are reading the classic story Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter.  We looked at some unfamiliar vocabulary prior to reading a part of the story so that we understood what the words meant in context. We wrote sentences about when we are full of mischief like Peter Rabbit!
