    WB: 13.5.26

This week, we enhanced our PSRHE learning with a visit from Smokefree Lancashire. The children took part in an engaging and informative session all about the dangers of smoking and vaping, helping them to understand how these choices can impact their health and wellbeing.

This linked closely to our current topic, “Being the Best Version of Myself,” encouraging pupils to think about making positive, healthy choices both now and in the future.

The children were thoughtful, mature and fully engaged throughout the session—we were very proud of their contributions and sensible discussions.

    SATS WEEK

We are incredibly proud of all our Year 6 children for their hard work, determination and positive attitude during SATs week. They approached each day with resilience and maturity, giving their very best effort and supporting one another throughout – a real credit to themselves and our school.

To celebrate the end of the week and all they have achieved, the children enjoyed a well-deserved ice cream treat on Thursday afternoon. The ice cream van was a lovely surprise and brought lots of smiles as everyone relaxed together after a busy few days.

Throughout the week, we also took time to support the children’s wellbeing. We began our new art projects, which provided a calm and creative opportunity for pupils to relax and unwind, enjoying working together in a more peaceful and reflective way.

We ended the week with a fantastic Sports Day on Friday, where the children spent the whole day taking part in a range of events. We were especially proud of the excellent sportsmanship they demonstrated—cheering each other on, showing respect, and celebrating one another’s efforts.

It has been a wonderful week, and we couldn’t be prouder of how the children have conducted themselves. Well done, Year 6 – you should all feel very proud!

Year 6 Visit Old Trafford Cricket Ground

After an incredibly hardworking week of revising for their SATs, our Year 6 pupils enjoyed a well-deserved and exciting trip to Old Trafford Cricket Ground.

The day was a fantastic opportunity for the children to relax, celebrate their efforts, and experience live sport in a world-class setting. They watched a thrilling cricket match, soaking up the atmosphere and showing great enthusiasm as they followed the action on the pitch.

Following the match, pupils had the chance to take part in a range of fun and engaging cricket activities. These sessions allowed them to practise their batting, bowling and fielding skills, as well as work together as a team. It was wonderful to see their energy, teamwork and positive attitudes shining through.

The trip was a brilliant way to reward the children after such a focused week of revision, and they represented our school wonderfully throughout the day. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, resilience and behaviour.

    A memorable day for all—well done, Year 6! 🏏

    Behaviour Reward Day Fun!

We have had a fantastic time celebrating our Behaviour Reward Day this week! The children thoroughly enjoyed the inflatable activities, showing great enthusiasm, teamwork and plenty of smiles all round. It was wonderful to see them having so much fun together and being rewarded for their positive attitudes and efforts throughout the term.

We have also been making the most of the beautiful weather by taking our learning outdoors. The children have been actively revising their SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) skills through engaging and practical activities. From grammar games to outdoor challenges, they have worked incredibly hard while enjoying a change of scenery.

With SATs just around the corner, we are so proud of the children’s focus, determination and positive mindset. They are showing great resilience and confidence, and we know they will do their very best.

Well done, Year 6 – keep up the fantastic effort!
