Our new topic this half-term is "Over the Rainbow."
We will be exploring colourful and imaginative stories such as Elmer, Anna's Amazing Multicoloured Glasses, and The Wind Blew.
In Science, we will test different materials to see which are best for certain uses. We will also explore how solids can be shaped and learn about properties such as how runny or thick a material is.
In Geography, Reception will explore different types of weather and learn about the seasons throughout the year. Year 1 will locate the four countries of the UK, investigate daily weather patterns, and identify how the weather changes across the seasons.
In DT, we will be making our own hand-puppets, using either glueing, stapling, running stitch or whip stitch to join.
In DT, Year 1 have been making hand puppets. We are so proud of their creativity and effort!

Reception have been creating 3D rainbows. They used glue, cellotape and staples. They look beautiful on display!

Wear Something Funny for Money! We had a fantastic day supporting Comic Relief. Your creative outfits really made us laugh! Thank you to everyone who donated and helped raise money for such a great cause.
We enjoyed learning about Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. We created beautiful crescent moons, explored traditional mehndi patterns, and made our own mosque models. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about the celebrations associated with this special time.

We have enjoyed spending lots of time in the wonderful outdoors. We observed our shadows and explored how they change, and we used our creativity to draw and paint beautiful daffodils.

Reception have been exploring doubles in maths. The children practised adding the same number together and used practical activities to help them understand how doubles work.

This week we listened to the story “Anna’s Amazing Multi-Coloured Glasses.” The children made their own glasses and were amazed to see funny coloured objects like a purple tree and a red cat! Reception drew colourful pictures and wrote short sentences, while Year 1 wrote their own multi-coloured stories.
F spent the whole day completing this 150-piece jigsaw, showing fantastic perseverance. We were so proud of him! When he finished, he took a big bow while we all clapped.
We have been enjoying handwriting! We have been practising leading in and leading out. The writing is looking beautiful.
We loved sharing some of our favourite stories with our grown-ups at the end of the day! Perfectly cosy with biscuits in our pyjamas! Thank you all for coming.

We loved snuggling up with a book for World Book Day! Throughout the day, we enjoyed stories, shared our favourite bedtime tales, made bookmarks, drew our favourite story characters, went on a character hunt, and so much more!

Our Reception children have been using ten frames to solve addition problems. They have been exploring how two parts come together to make a whole. What are the two parts? What is the whole?

We have been busy transforming our milk bottles into colourful Elmers!

Miss Lancaster heard there was an elephant in the playground, so we stomped outside like elephants to investigate! Although we didn’t find a real elephant, we discovered lots of colourful patches that could only belong to Elmer. After enjoying the story of Elmer, we created our own bright and beautiful patchwork elephants!

We are so proud of our Year 1 children and their fantastic finished artwork! They have worked incredibly hard to use all the skills they have learnt, including weaving, wrapping, plaiting and so much more. Look at how beautiful they are!
