  • Spring 2

Welcome back to Spring 2! We are looking forward to a busy and exciting half term.

In History, we will continue our work on the Ancient Egyptians, using a range of sources to investigate and understand their fascinating beliefs. In Geography, the children will be exploring how rainforests are changing, including opportunities to observe our own wildlife garden. Year 4 will continue their swimming lessons and enjoy Forest School sessions, while Year 3 will take part in rugby lessons during PE. They will also be developing their musical skills by exploring pentatonic melodies and composing pieces linked to the Chinese New Year. We are very much looking forward to the learning ahead.

    Week 1

We are delighted to share that children have started bringing in their Extreme Reading photographs, and we are absolutely loving them! It is wonderful to see the children so enthusiastic about celebrating reading in fun and creative ways. Developing a love of reading is incredibly important, and just 20–30 minutes of reading at home each day can make a huge difference. Regular reading supports children’s progress in all areas of the curriculum—building vocabulary, confidence, comprehension, and imagination.

This week in History, the children have been exploring a range of historical sources linked to ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses. We have been looking closely at how different historians interpret these sources and how their claims can vary depending on the evidence they use.
