In English, we wrote a sequel to Traction Man is Here

In History, we thought about what we would like a future monarch to be like. We said that a future monarch should be kind, fair, honest and respectful. They should listen to the people, work hard for the country and treat everyone equally. A good monarch should also care about the environment, support charities and set a positive example for others.

In RE, we reflected on the importance of the Jewish Shabbat. We created posters to highlight the main features and significance of Shabbat, including the day of rest, family time, prayer and its importance in the Jewish faith.

We created a Shabbat meal using playdough:

The Year 1 children learnt about grouping in Maths. They explored how to sort counters into equal groups and used practical activities to develop their understanding of multiplication and division.

In PRSHE, we were thinking about how our responsibilities change as we grow.

In Maths, the Year 1 children have been learning to halve odd numbers.

In Science, we carried out an experiment to investigate whether a Gingerbread Man is waterproof. We had great fun observing and recording the changes over time!

In DT, we used our senses to explore a range of salad vegetables. We created a word bank of adjectives to describe their texture, smell and taste.

We reinforced our understanding of historical motte-and-bailey castles through the collaborative creation of one.

In Science, we measured and compared speed using time to answer the question, 'Do all animals move at the same speed?'

In Music, we read the Hare and Tortoise story and then clapped a rhythm based on it.
