Summer 2

Here is an overview of our learning this half-term. 

English -Exploring Traction Man, before writing our own fantasy story featuring our own robot as the central character. 
Maths Units -  Addition and Subtraction, Measurement (Capacity & Volume), Fractions, Geometry (Position and Direction, Shape), Time, Multiplication and Division
Science –Revisiting this year's learning through a variety of working scientifically investigations. We will build on on earlier working scientifically skills, including observing with the senses, planning and ordering tests, measuring, recording results and presenting findings in block graphs.
PE: Athletics, including jumping, throwing, running and catching.
RE - Judaism: We will learn about the Jewish Sabbath (Shabbat), exploring why it is holy and how special days can bring families together and strengthen
PRSHE - Growing and Changing: How am I changing as I grow?
Music - Investigating musical structure by listening to, analysing and performing a song based on a well-known myth.
Art - Finishing details for our art project!
DT - Preparing Food: We will be exploring, planning and preparing a vegetable salad.

The following subjects continue over Summer 1 and Summer 2:

History - What is a monarch? Understanding the role of a monarch and how it has changed over time; identifying the purpose, structure and evolution of castles.
Geography - What can you see at the coast? Children will learn to locate and describe the seas, oceans and coasts of the UK using maps and compass directions. They will identify physical and human coastal features and how people use them.
