Here is an overview of our learning this half term.
English - We are exploring riddles, poetry and non-chronological reports. We will be using the story, The Perfect Pet to help us explore these genres.
Maths Units - Money, Time, Number and Place Value, Measurement: Mass, Geometry: 2D & 3D Shape, Counting and Money
Science - Comparing Animals. We will be describing different animals, comparing features, animal diets and groups as well as exploring our own and each other's pets!
PE - Gynmastics
RE - We are exploring the religion of Hindu Dharma. We will explore how Hindus believe in one God, who is worshipped in many different forms.
PRSHE - Keeping Myself Safe. Who helps to keep us safe in the community? How can we get help if there is an accident? How can we stay safe online?
Music - Call and Response. Can we copy and create short sound patterns using our bodies and instruments, demonstrating contrasting dynamics?
The following subjects continue over Autumn 1 and Autumn 2:
History - What was school like in the past? We'll find out and investigate what school was like in the past, and compare classrooms modern and in the past?
Geography - What is the weather like in the UK? Locating the four countries of the UK, identify seasonal changes and investigate daily weather patterns.
Art - Weaving – To fix materials and explore plaiting, threading and knotting techniques.
DT - Joining Techniques. We will be making our own handpuppets, using either glueing, stapling, running stitch or whip stitch to join.
In Art, Mrs Govender came in to speak to us about her creative interests. We are looking forward to creating our own woven wonders!
In PE, we have been practising different Gymnastics movements!


In Music, we enjoyed exploring dynamics linked to Safari Animals. As Miss Zak told a safari story, the children adapted the dynamics of their instrument to represent the animal sounds and movements.

In English, we've been exploring noun phrases.

In Maths, we enjoyed measuring and comparing different time challenges! The children were fantastic at using the stop watch to identify the number of seconds it took to complete a variety of challenges.


In Art, we practised wool wrapping.

The children have been loving this song to help us remember our capital letters and full stops! Onto the website as many requests to share with grown ups at home! Enjoy!
