 Comic Relief

Thanks to everyone for supporting Comic Relief this year. It was wonderful to see staff and children 'dressing up funny for money'  - we had inflatable cows, swimming costumes with inflatable rings and t-shirts with jokes written all over them ! Everyone had a great time and raised £302 in the process !

Football tournament

Clitheroe’s Pendle Primary School proudly took part in the Northern League 2 Primary School football competition, representing Accrington Stanley,  where the boys delivered an outstanding performance. Competing against 10 other teams, they battled hard to secure an impressive fourth place in their group, showing determination and resilience throughout. Their journey ended in the semi-final against a very strong Notts County side, who went on to win the entire competition unbeaten all day. Despite the result, the boys should be incredibly proud—their teamwork, spirit and collaboration were exceptional, and they represented Pendle School brilliantly, doing everyone proud.

Let's Go Sing

Our choir took part in Let's Go Sing at Blackburn Ice Arena on Thursday 19th March 2026. They all sang beautifully and enjoyed the occasion. Our very own Miss Zak was the guest conductor for the evening. Thanks to all parents and staff for your support -  we couldn't do these events, with so many children, without your help !

Science week at Ribblesdale High School

Our year 5 scientists had an exciting morning in the lab at Ribblesdale! They used bunsen burners to explore what happens when magnesium strips are heated, watched metal fragments create sparkling effects and experimented with different chemicals to observe how they changed the colour of the flame. It was a hands‑on session full of curiosity, discovery and plenty of 'wow!' moments.

Children’s Mental Health Week - 9th- 15th February

This year’s theme is “This Is My Place.” Throughout the week staff helped children explore where they feel comfortable, accepted and safe—one of those key places being our school.

To help us celebrate the theme ‘Slippers in school’ and create a sense of comfort and belonging, children and staff enjoyed wearing slippers in school all week.

This small, cosy change was a simple way to open conversations about the places where we feel most at ease, and how school can be one of those places for everyone.

King Charles Visit - Monday 9th February

We were all very excited about the Royal visit and had made flags in school to wave. All classes lined Chatburn Road and were thrilled for King Charles to slow down, lower his window and wave at the children !

Year 5 and 6 Football County Finals HOME - Fleetwood Town Football Club

Our Year 5 and 6 footballers did us proud when they represented the Ribble Valley in the County Finals at Fleetwood on 16th January. They played brilliantly and, although they didn't reach the quarter finals, their footballing abilities, teamwork and positive attitudes were acknowledged by other teams. You are all superstars!

Odd socks day  was on Monday 10th November. It is a fun event that marks the start of Anti-Bullying Week, encouraging people to wear mismatched socks to celebrate individuality and uniqueness. It promotes the message that it's okay to be different and is a way to raise awareness of bullying and promote kindness and acceptance. Thank you to all children and staff for wearing odd socks on this day and for making such colourful sock bunting to display in our school hall.

Remembrance Service  Our school councillors represented Pendle at the Remembrance Service, on Sunday 9th November, at St Mary’s Church and then at the Castle cenotaph. They joined in a parade, followed by a church service and then a procession to the cenotaph. They carried a wreath made by children and our Year 6 councillors placed it on the cenotaph. We were very proud of them all.

🌟 Macmillan Coffee Morning Success - £690 raised – Thanks to Year 6! 🌟

We’re thrilled to share the wonderful success of our recent Macmillan Coffee Morning, held to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Thanks to the generosity of our school community, we raised an impressive £690 to support this vital cause — and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible help of our Year 6 pupils!

From welcoming guests and serving cakes to helping with setup and tidy-up, Year 6 showed fantastic teamwork, responsibility, and enthusiasm throughout the event. Their smiles and energy helped create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made the morning extra special.

A huge thank you to all the parents, carers, and staff who donated delicious treats, came along to support, and contributed so generously. Your kindness and community spirit truly made a difference.

We’re proud to be part of such a caring school family — and proud of our Year 6 stars for stepping up and helping make the event such a success!

Together, we’ve brewed up something brilliant for a great cause. β˜•πŸ’š
