Planting our own magic beanstalks!
We innovated the characters within the story and thought of a new events. Some children thought about golden footballs, golden swords and golden chocolate eggs! We even had dinosaurs and witches instead of giants…
Story mapping! We story mapped Jack and the Beanstalk before using Talk4Writing to help us to embed story language.
Sequencing and orally retelling the story of Jack and the Beanstalk.
We wrote a character description of Jack before thinking about how we would feel if we were hiding under a teacup! This linked in well with our ‘ed’ suffix… we thought of words such as, scared and worried.
We found magic beans! We predicted where they may have come from...
