Summer 1

Flinker Investigation (A balloon that doesn’t float or sink, it flinks!) Here we are trying to make a helium filled balloon float mid-air without rising or sinking.

Identifying and classifying solids, liquids and gases.

The Dancing Raisin investigation. We enjoyed observing how sparkling water can make raisins dance! At first, the raisins sink because they are more dense than the water but once some bubbles (of carbon dioxide gas that provides the fizz) attach to the raisins, they float upwards, sinking again when the bubbles are released.

We explored the properties of Solids, Liquids and Gases.

Initial Assessment - We recorded our ideas about solids, liquids and gases.
