Spring 1

We went on a winter walk and talked about what we noticed.

We have been asking questions. We listened to the story ‘Bill’s Belly Button'. In the story the children ask the Zoo keeper if elephants have belly buttons. We took it in turns to be a Zoo Keeper and answered lots of questions.

We have been creating imaginary animals. We have been writing about our animals using the vocabulary we have learnt this half term. We used words such as scaly, stripy and extinct.

We enjoyed an animal workshop from Zoo Lab! We met a snail, a frog, a snake, a cockroach and a tarantula. Can the children tell you any of the facts they learnt?

Can you hear anything?

We made bird feeders to feed the birds in winter.

We have been researching to find out what animals eat. Some animals eat plants, some animals eat other animals and some animals eat both.

Animals!

We thought of different ways to sort animals into groups.

We looked closely at a fish and drew a picture to record what we observed. We noticed scales, fins, eyes, gills the mouth and the tail.
