Seasons

We went on a spring walk to observe signs of spring.

We observed our trees in Spring and compared them to what we had seen in other seasons.

Winter we have been back to look at our trees now that it is winter.

Our science topic this term is the seasons.

Mrs Govender says put your coat on before you put your gloves on. We have been investigating if it is easier to do things with or without gloves on.

We have been thinking about how animals survive in winter. We made some leaf pile dens for hedgehogs, frogs and toads to use when they are hibernating.

What happens in the different seasons.

We planted daffodil bulbs. Now we need to wait and see in which season they will flower.

We looked carefully at different trees to see what they looked like in Autumn. We will look again in Winter, Spring and Summer to see if they have changed.

We know that the seasons repeat in a cycle. We talked about how the weather can change in the different seasons and how it affects living things. We know it isn’t always sunny in summer or snowy in winter.

We went on an autumn walk to observe what we could see, touch and hear. We collected leaves and drew some fantastic detailed drawings. We noticed that some trees still have lots of green leaves. Some leaves have fallen off the trees and changed colour. We could hear the wind blowing in the trees. The rain made everything wet and it felt cold.
