Comparing different maps of Clitheroe.

Field trip to the cement works. Craig explained how the land was used to quarry limestone, which was then crushed and made into clinker. The clinker is then ground to produce cement.

The children were asked: What do you think rural and urban mean? They discussed and wrote down their thoughts.

The children located Clitheroe using atlases, Google maps and Google earth.
