Testing Material Properties

We walked around school looking at the different materials, identifying their properties and discussing why the materials used were the most suitable.

We tested if different types of sugar dissolve at the same rate. Some children explored if the temperature of the water influenced the time it took for the sugar to dissolve, whilst others explored if stirring the solution affected the time it took for the sugar to dissolve. 

We practised identifying the variables and factors in a fair test investigation.

We planned our own fair test investigation, deciding which variables we would change and what factor we would keep the same.
