We caught the Gingerbread Man! Great team work.

We have been extremely busy trying to catch the Gingerbread Man. The children have showed so much enjoyment in making traps and creating danger posters!

We enjoyed spending some time in the library looking at all the wonderful books we have.

We followed a set of instructions to make porridge for the Three Bears. We enjoyed eating some too!

Who has been in OUR classroom?! The children got to work straight away. We spent the morning investigating and looking for clues. We found red ribbon, golden hair and a half eaten bowl of porridge! We drew and labelled the evidence, used the iPads to take pictures, created wanted posters and worked together to try and find a conclusion. Fantastic team work!

Some of our exciting phonics provision!

This week we have been talking about our families. The children enjoyed listening to Miss Lancaster talk about her family, especially her niece Poppy. We read the book "The Great Big Book of Families" and discussed different types of families and how they are all special.

The children put on their ‘listening ears’ ready for a listening walk. We read a story called "The Listening Walk" before setting off. We stopped, listened and talked about the things we could hear. We heard the wind blowing, children playing, cars and an aeroplane!

Super concentration!

We have enjoyed drawing and writing about our special talents / things that we enjoy doing in our new books!

We listened to the story "We All Belong" and discussed how we are all different and how individuality makes us special. In speech bubbles, the Year 1 children wrote sentences describing what makes them unique. Their fantastic writing will be displayed next to their self-portrait.
